Why female empowerment is important

“When women support each other incredible things happen”

I love that quote, it speaks to the power we as women possess and how influential we are when we come together!

Whether you know me from TV or social media, I’ve always been vocal about my passion for female empowerment.

I am the woman I am today because of my mother. Because of her strength and diligence to raise her young daughter into a bold and confident woman!

No matter the city, I made it my mission to give back in some way. When I worked in the midwest as a TV host I served as a “big sister” through the Big Brother, Big Sister program.

I know that being a young person today comes with a different set of struggles compared to generations before and I find joy in being able to help young girls realize their potential and help them to move BOLDY in that direction.

There’s no limit to what you can do to give back! For me, whether its through public speaking, offering my skills or my time. Its all about setting the example, planting words of affirmation and being a positive resource.

On the local level, I’ve been able to get involved with great groups and organizations that align with my passions and interests!

One being Girls Inc, I love their motto of “inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.” The organization recently held a female empowerment luncheon where Kate White spoke about her journey of becoming fearless and how we can help Girls Inc grow and impact more lives through donating our time or resources! It takes a TEAM!

I remember growing up I wanted to be a veterinarian and then in college I became interested in TV journalism and both were attractive career paths because it meant that I could help others!

I’ll always have a big heart and a desire to give back, my mother is the same way, its in my DNA!

Now more than ever I want to encourage others to do the same and experience the joy and fulfillment that comes with making a difference.
